2024 Trip 1 - Day 13

May 13, 2024

It was a non-motorcycle day as I hung out with my son and his girlfriend, Dan and Krissy, and did some Pittsburgh things.  Krissy works late hours as a PA in an ER that is a bit of a drive from here so she sleeps in late.  Dan and I were up and he cooked a nice breakfast of eggs, grits, mushrooms, and cheese.

Once Krissy was up, the plan was to get some exercise and we went to downtown Pittsburgh to do a run along the river running paths and other places.  It is such a cool city and they have developed their riverfronts with multi-use paths that are full of walkers, runners, and bicyclists.  Some photos from along the way:

This a Mr. Rogers memorial who was a native of the city.

Standing inside this large archway, you get to hear a reading in his voice.

Here we are a Point Park where the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers come together to form the Ohio river.

The run took us along the river before we diverted and went through downtown:

Downtown is crowded but nice.  Not sleazy as has happened in many downtowns.

There was live music in the central square.

We continued on our tour.

A movie crew is getting ready to shoot something on the bridge.

We did a bit more than 5 miles, running and walking.  We went back to their place for lunch and to plan out our next outing.  That next adventure was to take their dog, Daisy, to North Park for a bit of fun in the water.

Dan made a great spaghetti dinner and we sat around afterwards and visited.

It was a zero mile day for the motorcycle and 5 miles on the running shoes.

October 26, 2024 With my recent flat tire patched and pretty nice weather, it was a good day to get out and log some miles.  My friend, Keit...
