It was a day of beautiful weather and I had a 4-hour window of opportunity so I took advantage of that and made a run up to the Beartooth Pass and back.
There isn't much to tell. I rode the freeway to Laurel and Hwy 12 to Red Lodge and then on up to Vista Point where I used the facilities. Then back on to the pass. It was a bit windy, not unusual, and about 53 degrees. I thought about putting on my sweatshirt when I made that stop but figured I'd only be taking it off again when I came back down the mountain.
Traffic was heavier that usual with tourist season ramping up but I wasn't held back by many slow drivers. My dash cam captured the ride up and the level of snaw alongside the roads. Unfortunately I picked up a bug on the lens, something I need to check more frequently but the footage turned out OK.
Up on top I took the standard photo.
The ride back was uneventful except having to pull over a few times south of Joliet for some emergency vehicles.
I arrive home almost exactly 4 hours after I had left.
It was a 186 mile day.
