No motorcycling today but it wasn’t without adventure. I got up at the usual early hour and started me day with a short run. It was a beautiful morning and I kept it short, just looping around Brookline Memorial Park.
After getting cleaned up and fed, we loaded the dog up in the car and picked up my son, his girlfriend, and their dog. My son took over the driving and we headed north to Erie to check out Lake Erie at Presque Isle State Park. And what a perfect day for it: solid blue skies, a slight breeze, and comfortable temperatures. The drive took us due north on I-79 and ends where it crosses I-90. The state park is a very large outcropping of land that extends into the lake with miles of trails and shoreline.
We parked in one of the many lots and did a 10 minute walk to the “unguarded” section of the beach where dogs are allowed to run free. There were not many people there and the waves were attractive.
We spent an hour or two there and the dogs had lots of fun retrieving out of the water. It was our dog’s first time in waves and they didn’t hold him back at all.
Next it was a stop at a touristy place for ice cream for all, including the dogs.
We headed back south and stopped at a Supercharger along the way to “tank up.” We dropped the others off but they came over later for a nice dinner of spaghetti, pizza, salad, and conversation.
A might fine day.
